Add a Weapon to your Tennessee Armed Guard License
State approved training course to qualify with a weapon and add it to your Tennessee Armed Security Guard License.
Cost: $40 (Free if you did your most recent license with us)
Course Length: about 2 hours
Location: Private range in Millersville, details will be given upon confirmation
Bring to class: Reliable firearm; 50 rounds of ammo (no reloads) per firearm; Outside the waistband holster; Extra magazine for firearm; Weather appropriate clothing for range (Tuesday)
The Add a Weapon course allows currently licensed Tennessee armed security guards to qualify with an additional firearm type, as required by Tennessee Code Annotated §62-35. This course includes classroom instruction, safe handling, and live-fire qualification specific to the new weapon being added to the officer’s registration.
Participants must hold an active armed guard license and provide their current registration card at check-in. Upon successful qualification, the additional weapon will be listed on the student’s state record after submission to the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
This training is conducted every Tuesday by state-certified instructors from Absolute Protection Academy
